Utility Spoilage And Scrap Collector
Under direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor, Utility Spoilage and Scrap Collector (USSC) will collect, sort, weigh, separate, and stage spoilage at various stations as directed, in addition to the below responsibilities.
Responsibilities include:
- Collect, sort, and weight spoilage at various stations as directed.
- Operate briquetter as spoilage accumulates and operate industrial truck to provide coil supply for the front end.
- Load and unload coils and bails.
- Deliver and store materials.
- Maintain proper segregation and disposal of spoilage and scrap per company procedure.
- Pile briquetted spoilage and scrap on pallets and band.
- Separate contaminated and uncontaminated scrap.
- Stage and load trucks, box cars, and other vehicles with scrap and spoilage.
- Deliver line supplies and services as requested.
- Keep assigned areas and equipment clean.
- Act as line tender while relieving others for breaks.
In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- 1-2 year(s) experience in inspecting/packaging and/or high speed manufacturing is preferred
- Must possess a mechanical aptitude
- Must be available to work 12 hour shifts, rotating 4 days on/4 days off schedule which may fall on holidays, weekends, or nights as business needs

- Ability to understand and speak basic English.
- Ability to discern variations in color, shading, and/or can construction issues: visual acuity and high level of detail.

Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
- The team member frequently is required to climb or balance
- The team member is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.

- Generally works in a manufacturing environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic
- The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures especially in the summer and winter months
