RN, Registered Nurse | Cardiothoracic Surgery Clinic

Position Overview

Join a specialized, close-knit cardiothoracic surgery team where nurses play a central role in guiding patients through their care journey. In this clinic-based role, you will build strong relationships with patients and serve as their primary point of contact as they move through consult, surgery planning, and monitoring.

36 weekly hours (full-time). 72 hours every two weeks. 8‑hour shifts between 7:30AM – 5:00PM. No weekends, holidays, or on‑call.

La Crosse, WI

• Manage phone triage, in‑basket messages, and patient communication.
• Partner with providers during clinic consults to support care planning and surgical readiness.
• Assist with surgical scheduling, including coordinating pre‑operative testing and delivering patient education.
• Conduct post‑operative follow‑up calls to assess recovery and address patient needs.
• Serve as a consistent point of contact during the surgical journey.
• Support patients in the Aortic Surveillance Program.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, including lung conference.

• RN license to work in Wisconsin.
• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience.
• Cardiology knowledge required.
