Quality Assurance Technician - 1st Shift

Schedule:

6:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Monday – Friday Compensation: $19 - $21 per hour

Position Overview:

Are you a motivated, detail-oriented individual eager to make a difference on the production floor? As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will play a vital role in safeguarding product quality, partnering closely with production teams, and driving ongoing improvements in our manufacturing processes. This hands-on role involves working directly with operators, supervisors, and teams to uphold the highest quality standards and support process efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality system audits, document findings, and recommend actionable process improvements.
  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections to verify product conformance and control.
  • Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, tape measures, dial indicators, and gauge blocks to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Train and support production staff on measurement techniques and quality procedures.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining operational procedures and work instructions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean manufacturing practices.
  • Communicate quality trends, concerns, and opportunities for improvement to management and production teams.
  • Maintain meticulous records of inspections, audits, and quality reports.
  • Support the company's commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
  • Effective communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and other inspection documents.
  • Capable of working effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a technical, manufacturing, or quality-related field.
  • Previous experience conducting quality audits and using metrology equipment.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds with assistance as needed.
  • Use of hands and fingers for operating inspection tools.
  • Visual acuity for defect detection.
  • Ability to work safely in a noisy environment with dust and varying temperatures, wearing PPE such as safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe footwear.
