Assist store manager in areas of sales, appearance, and overall operations of the store. Hands‑on management during transition to another store or position.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the professional and retail operations of the store and team members.
  • Work jointly with the District Manager and Store Manager in recruiting, testing, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and discharging team members.
  • Communicate information from Zipline and monthly manager meetings to all team members.
  • Train new team members assigned to him/her.
  • Handle team member performance evaluations and recommend pay increases.
  • Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to ensure the selection of qualified team members.
  • Support the store manager by working with the assistant management team to ensure safety compliance and that all team members receive appropriate training in all areas, including:
    Fast Track Training, work‑exercise during team members’ introductory training, customer service programs, required training certifications, equipment utilized for in‑store services, and miscellaneous training workshops.
  • Safety: coach new team members, deliver vehicles, report accidents/1‑800 call‑in incidents, and monitor safety expectations.
  • Make sales calls with or without the store manager; may be assigned a schedule for making weekly customer calls.
  • Support the store manager in store operations, including store accounting/daily reports, daily invoice review, cash management, store security, and other assigned duties.
  • Responsible for store/vehicle maintenance, performance, and appearance of the delivery fleet and maintain records for each vehicle.
  • Ensure staff keeps the store neat, clean, and organized at all times.
  • Electronic scheduling, clocking, and payroll.
  • Manage key components of profitability, monitoring professional customer returns, reviewing competitive price matches and price overrides, and reviewing individual team member productivity and KPI dashboard daily.
  • Review the monthly P&L statement with the store manager and discuss areas of opportunity.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Must complete Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program.
  • Ability to read and match numerical/alpha characters quickly and accurately.
  • Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment, and systems.
Desired Qualifications
  • O’Reilly store and/or distribution center experience.
  • Completed O’Reilly management training program.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • ASE Certification.
