Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Project Foreman role based in La Crosse, WI. The Project Foreman oversees day-to-day field operations on landscaping and hardscaping projects, including planning work sequences, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency. This role coordinates crew activities, manages use of heavy equipment and tools, and helps with layout, grading, installation of pavers, retaining walls, drainage systems, turf, and outdoor features.

The Project Foreman communicates regularly with the project manager and clients regarding schedules, site conditions, and any changes in scope. Responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with safety procedures, conducting basic equipment and site maintenance, tracking materials, and supporting hands-on work as needed to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications
  • Strong supervisory skills, including crew leadership, task delegation, and on-site problem solving.
  • Proficiency with heavy equipment commonly used in landscaping and hardscaping (e.g., skid steers, mini excavators, compactors) and safe operating practices.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members, vendors, and clients, including clear verbal and basic written reporting.
  • Carpentry and construction-related skills applicable to outdoor amenities, framing, and detailed finish work.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on tools, machinery, and job sites.
  • Previous experience in landscaping, hardscaping, or construction foreman/lead roles preferred.
  • Working knowledge of site grading, drainage principles, and reading basic plans or drawings.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from La Crosse, WI job sites.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and respectful, inclusive teamwork.
