Job Description
Industrial Maintenance Technician
Position Summary We are seeking a hands-on Industrial Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production machinery and facility equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and basic electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair production machinery while minimizing downtime.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on production and facility equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues.
- Read and interpret machine manuals, drawings, and schematics.
- Disassemble equipment, replace or repair components, and reassemble machinery.
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting using a multimeter.
- Use hand, power, pneumatic, hydraulic, and measuring tools.
- Clean, lubricate, adjust, and maintain machinery and equipment.
- Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns.
- Document completed repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Assist with ordering replacement parts and coordinating outside repairs when necessary.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout and all company safety procedures.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as needed; training/certification may be provided.
Qualifications
- 1+ year of industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics required.
- Basic welding, fabrication, and troubleshooting experience preferred.
- Ability to read machine manuals, drawings, and schematics.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout procedures preferred.
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Reliable with strong attendance and communication skills.
- Must be willing to be on-call when needed for off-shift maintenance issues.
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
Physical/Work Requirements
- Ability to work in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must follow required PPE and safety procedures, including safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, gloves, and Lockout/Tagout.
