Position Summary

The Greater Oregon STEM Hub (GO STEM) is a regional cross‑sector collaborative working to improve and guide integrated science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education in eastern Oregon communities. It is a collective impact partnership that is part of a statewide network of STEM Hubs supported by the Oregon Department of Education. GO STEM’s Mobile Maker Lab Project Manager designs, manages, and implements high‑quality STEM, Career Connected Learning (CCL), and Work‑Based Learning (WBL) experiences for educators, students, community members, and other stakeholders.

The Project Manager is one of two mobile makers who reports to the GO STEM Outreach and Engagement Director and works closely with partners and staff to promote EOU and GO STEM’s mission, values, and strategic goals. The role provides direct program engagement with schools and communities across a seven‑county region and requires independent judgment, strong communication skills, and confidence in both in‑ and out‑of‑school events.

Responsibilities
  • Build and support the GO STEM Hub’s Mobile Maker Lab program presence in Wallowa, Umatilla, Morrow, Union, Grant, Baker, and Harney counties
  • Work with P‑20 youth and educators on a variety of in‑ and out‑of‑school STEM projects, camps, training sessions, PreK‑12 classroom visits, industry tours, and other initiatives related to the Mobile Maker Lab mission and goals
  • Organize out‑of‑school events (GO STEM Labs and kits, Family STEM nights, field lessons, summer/STEM camps, etc.)
  • Coordinate community‑ and school‑based events (outdoor school, STEM professional programs, Hub outreach, etc.)
  • Facilitate Career Connected Learning and Work‑Based Learning opportunities
  • Manage STEM material supply
  • Understand CTE/CCL/WBL pipelines and pathways
  • Develop and support curriculum and lesson‑planning resources related to STEM/NGSS/Common Core
  • Support schools and educators with in‑ and out‑of‑school STEM curriculum development and alignment
  • Support and organize in‑ and out‑of‑school events for schools, communities, and organizations
  • Communicate with schools, businesses, and organizations regarding Mobile Maker Lab activities
  • Provide professional development for teachers and community organizations around NGSS, CCSS, STEM, and Career Connected Learning
  • Contribute content for publication on Hub websites, social media, and print media
  • Understand and adhere to Hub budgets and grant allocations
  • Provide assessment and reporting information related to Mobile Maker Lab programs, events, and outreach for effectiveness
  • Propose and implement resource development, training, and operational improvements
  • Use a trauma‑informed and equity lens in design and delivery of program services
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, both written and verbal
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices across STEM, CCL, and WBL domains and issues impacting regional industry and education sectors
  • Manage contracted personnel, student workers, and volunteers
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM, or a related field
  • Three (3) years of K‑12 STEM/science teaching experience in a traditional and/or non‑traditional setting
  • Three (3) years of experience managing educational outreach, community engagement, and/or organizational systems
  • Three (3) years of experience developing or adapting curriculum for school‑aged learners
  • Satisfactory completion of the EOU criminal and credential background check; having a criminal history is not an automatic bar to employment
  • Compliance with federal law: verification of identity and eligibility to work in the United States and completion of the employment eligibility verification form upon hire; EOU will not sponsor employment visas
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Education or a related field
  • Three (3) years of experience with Maker Space/Lab curriculum development and/or delivery
  • Three (3) years of experience with Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core alignment
  • Experience in Career Connected Learning and/or Work‑Based Learning
Salary

$48,619 to $57,200
