Job Description Summary

The Learning Center Program Assistant is one of two positions that work collaboratively and independently to coordinate Testing Center operations and support accessibility services for Eastern Oregon University students. One position reports to the Assistant Director of Disability Services and the other reports to the Assistant Director of Academic Support.

Together, these positions coordinate disability accommodations, testing services, and academic support resources within the Learning Center, serving as primary resources for assistive technology, alternative-format instructional materials, accessibility resources, and accommodation implementation. The positions independently administer accommodation-related services, support Testing Center operations, supervise student employees, and provide training and consultation to students, faculty, and staff.

Working under the supervision of their respective Assistant Directors, the incumbents exercise independent judgment to coordinate services, manage specialized resources, maintain compliance with ADA and Section 504 requirements, and ensure the effective delivery of academic support and accessibility services for on-campus and distance learners.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate assistive technology, accessibility services, and testing resources, including alternative-format instructional materials, accessibility tools, and faculty consultation on accessible instructional and testing practices.
  • Coordinate and implement approved disability accommodations and testing services by conducting student intakes, evaluating documentation, determining standard accommodations, maintaining accommodation records, scheduling exams, and ensuring testing security and compliance.
