Database Administrator, Systems Analyst, IT Support
Position provides software/programming support and solutions to the departments of Eastern Oregon University. Provides consultative support to students, staff, and faculty to enhance the use and access to technology and information systems.
Responsibilities- Programming
:
Follow lead senior programmers to write or modify computer programs; test database queries, verify accuracy and completeness; evaluate system failures and make corrections to data, programs, or operating system language. Work with database systems and programming languages such as Ellucian Banner, SQL, Oracle, Java, and reporting tools including Millennium Fast. Support software solutions such as Degree Works, CRM, LMS, Housing Management System, and others as assigned. - User Support
:
Provide daily user support to resolve systems and database errors, restrictions, and other problems. Assist the Financial Aid Department’s automated processes and submit support requests with Ellucian. - Documentation
:
Prepare or modify program or system documentation including narratives, logic diagrams, input/output samples, instructions, and job setup information. Document automated processes developed by IS and supply documentation to the Fin Aid unit. - Systems Analysis and Design
:
Meet with end users to collect and analyze information requirements; evaluate existing automated and manual systems; assess feasibility and alternative design approaches. Keep current with Ellucian system revisions and analyze their impact. Schedule updates with lead or senior programmers to deploy to production. Design data processing systems, evaluate hardware and software requirements, prepare specifications, and participate in walkthroughs to evaluate or convert systems.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience, or two years of related coursework.
- Successfully complete an EOU criminal and credential background check.
- Prior experience with Ellucian Banner and/or Salesforce programming.
- Groovy with Grails certification.
