Job Description Summary
Eastern Oregon University ( EOU ) is accepting applications for a Temporary Campus Security/Public Safety Officer. This is a limited duration position (Sept 1
- Nov 30, 2026) located on the EOU main campus in La Grande, OR.
This position is located in the Division of Finance & Administration and reports directly to the Director of Campus Safety & Security.
The Campus Security/Public Safety Officer provides a safe and secure environment for the campus community; maintains a security presence on campus and routinely patrols the University campus and buildings; responds to calls for assistance; assists local emergency response personnel as needed; enforces parking regulations; enforces University policies; reports unsafe conditions; investigates complaints, incidents, and accidents according to established procedures; provides an environment in which students, faculty, staff, and visitors can openly learn, teach, study, work, and live.

The Campus Safety & Security Department includes the Environmental Health & Safety Department and the Security & Parking Enforcement Department.
The areas affected by these programs are the campus community, the City of La Grande, and the State of Oregon.
