We are currently seeking to fill a Family
Time Coordinator (Social Service Assistant) to join our Child Welfare team in the La Grande office. La Grande is in rural eastern Oregon.
As an employee working within the Child Welfare Program, you will have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oregon’s most vulnerable children and families.
As a Family Time Coordinator, You Will- Gather and Document Information:
Collect and record information from the caseworker, children, parents, relatives, case providers, schools, and other relevant resources to plan family time visits. - Review Family Time Agreements:
Meet with parents and caregivers to review family time agreements and guidelines, suggesting community resources as needed. - Supervise Family Time:
Supervise family time in an office or community setting, documenting relevant information. This ensures the safety and well-being of the children during these interactions. - Transport Children:
Assist with transporting children to family time visits and other necessary appointments. - Collaborate with Caseworkers:
Work closely with caseworkers to assess the details of family time supervision. Recommend services needed for case planning and relay important information about the children and their families or caregivers.

Minimum Qualifications- A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required for this position. AND
- One year of experience working in a human services or behavioral health setting; OR
- An associate degree in any field; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience conducting work that requires attention to detail, particularly when creating or reviewing documents.
- Demonstrated communication skills, including the ability to engage with a variety of people, the ability to de-escalate tense situations, and the ability to be assertive when necessary.
- Experience working successfully both with a team and independently, while managing your time efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to write clearly, concisely, and thoroughly with minimal spelling or grammar issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and showcase intercultural competency.
- Your work will be conducted in offices, participant's homes, and other community sites.
