SummaryLead the development and execution of strategic spend initiatives such as supply base research, spend analytics, supplier due diligence, RFQ/RFP initiatives, negotiations, cost‑out projects and lean initiatives. Responsible for supplier management, supplier performance/development, inventory management initiatives and managing global procurement agreements. This role will have no direct reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Demonstrated expertise in global commodity management for electronic components, with deep knowledge of supplier ecosystems, cost drivers and international supply chains.
- Develop forward‑looking category strategies that align with Grayhill’s business strategy while mitigating supply risks and adapting to evolving market conditions.
- Partner with R&D, Commercial, Operations, Supply Chain and other key stakeholders to implement sourcing strategies and contingency plans.
- Lead periodic business reviews with key suppliers to evaluate performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure supplier readiness and alignment for all product launches, meeting deliverables and timelines.
- Identify and qualify new sources of supply; assess supplier capabilities and fit.
- Negotiate and establish performance‑based supply agreements and related contracts.
- Define, monitor, and report on supplier performance metrics and cost savings targets.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives by identifying, prioritizing, and executing opportunities across the supply base.
- Utilize consistent methodologies to pursue deliverables that are aligned with strategic and environmental objectives.
- Uphold company policies, procedures and the Business Ethics & Conduct Code.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering required (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5‑7 years of spend and supplier management experience (negotiations, supplier rationalization, contract management).
- Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain including cost drivers, component lifecycle management, manufacturing processes and value engineering.
- Strong project management skills including developing action plans, identifying deliverables and being accountable for results.
- Working within a collaborative cross‑functional team environment will be critical to the success of this role.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact, converse and share ideas effectively with various levels of the organization as well as suppliers.
- Analytical and financial skills including strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred.
- Experience with electronic component lifecycle management software, such as Silicon Expert, is preferred.
- Willingness to travel globally, up to 10% of the time.
