Corrections Training Instructor/Coordinator I
Pay Grade 14, Salary $46,090.80 annually.
Employment Type:
Executive Branch, Full Time, Eligible for Overtime Pay, 18A, 40.0 HR/WK.
Location 4000 Morgan Road, La Grange, KY 40031 USA.
Job Summary A team‑oriented position with opportunities for career development. The instructor coordinates training for new recruits and provides specialty trainings for experienced staff across the Department of Corrections.
Responsibilities
- Instruct trainees at regional training centers.
- Travel to jails and other locations as needed to deliver training.
- Review and develop curriculum as requested.
Minimum Requirements
- Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
- Minimum two years of experience in any operation or program within the field of corrections and/or education.
- Graduate study in corrections, justice administration, or law substitutes for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Experience in corrections substitutes for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis.
- No special additional requirements (age, licensure, regulation).
Working Conditions Statewide travel required to conduct training programs.
Probationary Period Initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
