KCPC Licensed Practical Nurse

Overview

A competent Psychiatric Licensed Practical Nurse who practices psychiatric-mental health nursing under supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs general nursing tasks for the holistic care and treatment of patients’ medical and psychiatric needs.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assist in the assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementing, coordination of care, health teaching and health promotion of psychiatric and medical healthcare needs of a unique patient population. Engage in mission-driven leadership focused on patient care and quality improvement. Follow the policies and procedures of the facility. Adhere to time and attendance policies including mandatory overtime.

May be recalled to duty, held over, and may work irregular day/shift rotations to provide adequate coverage to meet facility needs. This position is deemed essential and has been designated for mandatory operations by the Appointing Authority; staff members are not eligible for Adverse Weather Leave.
