Certified Nursing Assistant - Nights

Compensation: $20.05 - $22.27 / hour plus $2,000 bonus for full‑time employment.

The Certified Nursing Assistant provides basic and specialized nursing care under the supervision of licensed nurses in a correctional setting. The role may involve floating between medical‑surgical and psychiatric patient care areas to ensure adequate staffing.

• Provides basic nursing care to patients, including assistance with ADLs, vital sign measurement, and accurate documentation of patient data.
• Maintains professional behavior and prioritizes workflow to ensure completion of all assigned duties while adhering to policies, procedures, and patient safety and confidentiality standards.
• Collaborates with other members of the health care team, participates in staff meetings and training sessions, and notifies the licensed nurse of any patient concerns or issues.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of nursing procedures and uses medical supplies and equipment, ensuring proper storage and cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising nurse, including assisting with patient care in different units and participating in the orientation of new staff members.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a training course for Nursing Assistants.

Experience &

Skills:

• Knowledge of basic patient care methods, procedures, and techniques.
• Ability to handle a variety of routine tasks and maintain orderly workflow.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen.
• Must maintain clearance for a Public Trust Position, if applicable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
• Proficiency with computers and common software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, database systems).
