RN PRN Operating Room
The Surgical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who, under the immediate supervision of the Director of Surgical Services/Nurse Manager and Charge RN, is responsible for the safety of the patient while in the operating area and assists with the supervision of nonprofessional personnel in the area. By assessment of the individual patient and procedure, the nurse anticipates the needs of the surgical team and provides such services while maintaining an aseptic and safe environment.
The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He/she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.
Assesses patient's clinical status
Develops plan of care
Implements patient care
Current RN Licensure in the State of Kentucky
BCLS required
ACLS Required
