Ashbourne Farms is looking for Seasonal Landscape Team Members to join our landscape and property maintenance team. This seasonal opportunity (March through early November) supports the farm’s aesthetic beauty and ecological health through thoughtful landscape care and property maintenance. Ashbourne Farms is located just outside of Louisville, KY in scenic LaGrange, KY, with additional opportunities to perform grounds maintenance and landscaping duties at our Haymarket locations in Louisville, KY.

What you can expect
  • Consistent schedule of 7 am - 3 pm Monday – Friday (some evenings and weekends based on seasonal needs)

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Related lawn care, landscaping, groundskeeping, or property maintenance experience is required, with additional experience in property or habitat maintenance is preferred.
  • Familiar with different plants, including native and invasive species, and their care routines.
  • Experience operating and performing basic mechanical maintenance on lawn care equipment, mowers, tractors, and power tools
  • This role is ideal for individuals who take pride in craftsmanship, outdoor work, and maintaining high-end farm and event properties.

Specific Duties & Expectations
  • Landscape & Lawncare Maintenance: Perform all aspects of landscape maintenance and lawn care, including mowing, weed eating, seeding, sod installation, mulching, fertilizing, pruning, and debris removal. Ensure all properties are meticulously maintained with a polished visual appearance and minimal overgrowth or invasive plant life.
  • Property Maintenance: Assist with general groundskeeping and property maintenance tasks, including fence repair, building upkeep, and ensure all lighting and irrigation systems are functioning properly.
  • Collaborative Support: Work with a team mentality to support other departments, such as Wildlife Management, Events, and Maintenance, as needed.
  • Seasonal & Project-based Work: Adapt to the seasonal needs of the farm by taking on a variety of tasks such as snow removal, leaf collection, soil preparation, and planting, ensuring the property's readiness for various seasons and events.
Additional Information, Physical / Other Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and climbing on uneven ground surfaces, and frequent stooping, bending and reaching.
  • Ability to walk frequent long distances, often several miles, in one shift.
  • Must be able to safely operate heavy groundskeeping and landscaping equipment including ability to visually see long distances and ability for strong hand/eye coordination.
  • Must be able to lift, and carry, up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Must be able to work in an outdoor environment with frequent exposure to extreme weather conditions.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
