Transportation Director/Assistant Transportation Director

To assist the Transportation Director in organizing and implementing a safe and efficient transportation system for all Oldham County students.

• Coordinate the development of safe bus routes consistent with applicable federal, state, and district policies for district schools as assigned.
• Process transportation requests and perform bus stop evaluations for assigned routes. Regularly update assigned bus route and schedules.
• Maintain and update assigned routes in accordance to applicable federal, state, and district procedures.
• Responsible for supervising and evaluating assigned transportation staff, and developing a subsequent corrective action plan if necessary.
• Act as a liaison with parents for concerns and special requests.
• Respond to bus collisions and complete necessary reports in the absence of the Assistant Director.
• Promote high standards of safety and good housekeeping methods in all work-connected areas.
• Verify time cards of assigned transportation staff.
• Check county roadways in the event of inclement weather.
• Perform such other reasonable duties within the scope of the transportation department as may be assigned by the Director or the Assistant Superintendent Student Services.
• Act as Transportation Director in the absence of the director and assistant director.

Salary-Annual contract; salary determined by Superintendent's recommendation and Board approval. Twelve month work week.
