Painter
This role focuses on exterior painting of stucco walls, wood trim, and railings in an outdoor environment. You use spray painting techniques and standard painting tools to deliver high-quality finishes, while preparing surfaces and performing basic drywall-related tasks as needed.
Responsibilities- Perform exterior painting on stucco walls, wood trim, and railings using spray equipment and traditional application methods.
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, patching, and caulking to ensure proper adhesion and a smooth finish.
- Operate spray guns safely and effectively to achieve consistent coverage and professional-quality results.
- Carry out paint prep activities such as masking, taping, and protecting surrounding areas from overspray or drips.
- Use hand tools such as brushes, mini rollers, putty knives, caulking guns, extension poles, and utility knives to complete painting tasks.
- Handle minor drywall-related tasks associated with prepping and painting, such as patching and smoothing surfaces.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and properly store tools and materials at the end of each shift.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working outdoors, including proper use of equipment and personal protective gear.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic by being punctual, reliable, and focused on quality workmanship.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and meet project timelines.
- Proven experience with spray painting, including confident operation of spray guns for exterior surfaces.
- Hands-on experience with exterior painting on stucco, wood trim, and railings.
- Strong paint preparation skills, including sanding, caulking, patching, and masking.
- Ability to perform basic drywall-related prep work, such as patching and smoothing surfaces.
- Proficiency in using standard painter's tools, including work boots, two-gallon bucket, good quality brushes, mini roller handles, putty knives, caulking guns, extension poles, and utility knives.
- Consistently demonstrate a good attitude and strong work ethic in a field-based role.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in general painting, prepping, and drywall work in residential or commercial settings.
- Comfort working with various paint types and finishes on different exterior surfaces.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering neat, professional results.
- Reliability and willingness to follow established processes and safety protocols.

Work EnvironmentThis is an outdoor, field-based role focused on exterior surfaces in the La Habra area. The work is physically active and requires wearing appropriate work boots and attire suitable for outdoor conditions.
You follow established safety procedures and maintain clean, organized work areas throughout each project.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Habra, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
