Primary
Purpose:
To provide support with security by observing, reporting, and de‑escalating security and crisis‑related events.
Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to read and follow instructions;
Possess a good driving record;
Basic computer skills (e.g., data entry, report writing).
Experience: Requirement determined by supervisor.
Major Responsibilities and Duties- Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Maintain a high level of visibility on campus.
- Maintain high knowledge of Standard Response Protocols.
- Remain trained and proficient in CPI, basic first aid/CPR, Stop the Bleed, and CRASE.
- Display proficient levels of technological applications.
- Communicate with students regarding code of conduct.
- Enforce and report student code of conduct as policy dictates.
- Notify principal and Director of Emergency Management and Safety of major security infractions.
- Compile daily security reports.
- Monitor facility lots before, during, and after school.
- Communicate with students, staff, and visitors regarding parking lot rules.
- Patrol athletic facilities.
- Conduct roving foot patrol of interior and perimeter of campus throughout the day.
- Verify doors are secure throughout the day.
- Look for unusual activities and suspicious persons.
- Patrol hidden areas of campus.
- Provide effective and efficient crisis communication (radio and phone).
- Assist with arrival and dismissal of staff and students.
- Assist with visitor check‑in and check‑out.
- Assist campus leadership in providing safety and security for students.
- Assist with campus safety drills, audits, and emergency action plan execution.
- Provide written or oral reports as required.
- Provide support in areas of campus that are safety vulnerable.
- Stay up-to-date through quality staff development opportunities.
- Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.
- Participate as an effective team member contributing to district, department, and content goals.
- Demonstrate integrity and ethics.
- Utilize time wisely for effective job management.
- Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
- Maintain friendly, customer‑service‑driven interactions with all stakeholders.
- Wear assigned uniform identifying you as a member of the Security and School Safety Team.
- Work cooperatively with co‑workers and supervisors to ensure goals of the school/department are met.
- Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned by campus administrator.
Mental Demands: Effective communication; concentration while performing duties; maintain emotional control under stress; report editing; two‑way radio operations.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Heavy walking and standing (8 hrs/day); bending; lifting, daily driving; exposure to weather.

Salary: Mid: $13.50, $16.46, Max: $19.42 per hour.
