Pay and Benefits
Starting pay range: $24.75 – $26.75 per hour. Full pay range: $24.75 – $42.05 per hour, based on location and qualifications.
About the RoleThe Beauty Team Leader brings energy, expertise, and personalized service to create an inclusive and welcoming beauty experience. The role focuses on guest service, operational excellence, and team development.
Responsibilities- Deliver a consistent guest experience and ensure all team members understand and fulfill Target’s guest experience commitments.
- Observe, coach, and provide feedback to team members, holding them accountable while recognizing positive behaviors and guest moments.
- Plan and execute daily/weekly workloads to meet department and store sales goals, including merchandising, pricing, and promotions.
- Assign daily tasks to team members based on traffic patterns and business priorities.
- Lead a seamless guest experience across all Beauty areas, modeling best practices in onboarding, training, and continuous skill development.
- Assist in hiring and onboarding, evaluating candidates for open positions and ensuring a diverse, guest‑centric team.
- Demonstrate and enforce an inclusive culture, valuing diverse voices and maintaining equitable experiences.
- Lead and model a safety culture: recognize hazards, maintain safety expectations, manage incidents, and support physical security processes.
- Support merchandise protection strategies, effective storage, and application of best practices.
- Occasionally assume store‑level leadership on duty to support guest experience during key shifts.
- Address all store emergency and compliance needs and complete other duties as directed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age 18 or older.
- Experience in retail preferred, but not required.
- Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks within established time frames.
- Strong leadership skills: coaching, evaluating, and retaining team members.
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written, including use of communication devices and handheld scanners.
- Physical ability to lift up to 15 pounds regularly and up to 44 pounds occasionally, climb ladders, and perform tasks in varying temperatures and humidity.
- Variable work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, closing shifts, and peak shopping periods; reliable and prompt attendance required.
- Capability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Strong guest service fundamentals and a passion for personalized shopping techniques.
- Knowledge of retail business fundamentals: sales trends, inventory management, and promotional strategies.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on beauty brands, trends, and promotions.
