Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum): $30.980 - $38.730 - $43.370

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

Provides unarmed Emergency Room security and/or other security as required.

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
• Must be non-probationary active duty police officer or Sheriff’s Deputy of a San Diego County Law Enforcement Agency.
• Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Certification – Various-Employee provides certificate – REQUIRED
• Driver's License – CA Department of Motor Vehicles – REQUIRED
• Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A – CA Department of Motor Vehicles – REQUIRED
• Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B – CA Department of Motor Vehicles – REQUIRED

• When employee drives their own vehicle, they must utilize reliable transportation and possess adequate personal insurance coverage. Demonstrates clean driving record in accordance with requirements of the employer DMV pull notice program and Sharp Health Care Driver Guidelines.

• Communications – Communicates schedule availability to SRN in a proactive manner.
• Emergency department – Officer must be proactive in assisting patients, visitors, and staff as necessary.
• Incident documentation – Reports and documents all security related incidents.
• Liaison – Liaisons with local Law Enforcement Agencies who transport patients and prisoners to ER ensuring Law Enforcement Agency complies with Sharp Health Care's proper documentation and procedures are in place.
• Security rounds – Officer must be able to diffuse potential violent confrontations utilizing verbal skills; officers must display proactive presence to prevent escalations.
• Stat calls – Responds to stat calls in a timely manner utilizing established safety practices.

• Ability to utilize resources in an organized manner.
• Extensive knowledge of penal codes.
• Effective interpersonal and customer relations skills.
