Project Cost Accounting Manager
Los Angeles County , CA Contract Accounting Management $50/HR to $70/HR 08/20/2026
Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Project Cost Accounting Manager to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $50.00 to $60.00 per hour.
Job Responsibilities:- Manage project accounting activities by tracking costs evaluating project performance and supporting financial reporting requirements.
- Prepare and maintain work in progress schedules to support accurate revenue recognition and project reporting.
- Collaborate with project teams to review forecasts budgets and cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
- Analyze project financial results and identify potential risks variances and cost concerns for management review.
- Support audits and provide financial information that ensures compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.
- A Bachelor degree in accounting finance or a related field.
- 4+ years of project accounting or cost accounting experience in a project based environment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of revenue recognition principles project accounting and work in progress reporting.
- Possess experience with inventory accounting financial analysis and enterprise accounting systems.
- Maintain proficiency with Excel and other business software used for reporting and financial management.
- Apply strong analytical and problem solving skills to evaluate project costs financial performance and reporting accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with project managers operational teams and leadership stakeholders.
- Maintain exceptional attention to detail when reviewing financial records forecasts and accounting schedules.
- Demonstrate leadership abilities through training guidance and support of accounting processes and team initiatives.
- Bring experience within construction manufacturing engineering services or similar industries considered beneficial.
