Overview:

The School of Fine Arts and Communication at Biola University invites applications for a full-time, Visiting Professor position in Acting to begin Fall 2026. We seek a dynamic theatre artist and educator with expertise in acting and at least one of the following areas:
Musical Theatre, Movement, Voice, or Screen Acting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, artistic excellence, and integration of Christian faith and learning.

Primary Responsibilities:

● Teach undergraduate courses in acting and at least one of the following:
Musical Theatre, Movement, Voice, or Screen Acting.

● Direct or mentor student productions as part of the department's production season.

● Participate in curriculum development and departmental planning.

● Mentor and advise students in academic and professional development.

● Engage in scholarly, creative, or professional work related to theatre.

● Serve on departmental (Theatre) committees.

Required Qualifications:

● MFA in Acting or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered.

● Demonstrated excellence in college-level teaching and/or professional practice.

● Expertise in at least one of the following:
Musical Theatre, Movement, Voice, or Screen Acting.

● A record of professional engagement in theatre, film, or related media.

● A commitment to integrating faith and discipline, and the ability to articulate a Christian worldview in the context of the performing arts.

● Active involvement in a Christian community.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Experience in developing connections with professional companies in the professional theatre and/or film industry.
