Duration: 8 or 12 months
Responsibilities and Duties- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
- Update and manage environmental data and reporting in the Environmental Data Management System (EMS).
- Support the development of an assurance program and implement best management practices.
- Assist with the development of internal self‑assessments, verification and audit processes.
- Support the development, coordination, performance and reporting on environmental assurance activities, including effectiveness reviews.
- Summarize environmental inspections and outcomes into appropriate databases to track, report, and verify compliance, and provide support to improvement projects.
- Conduct site inspections, perform gap assessments, and share best practices.
- Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to improve business processes.
- Working toward an Undergraduate degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or Environmental Performance.
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License or an equivalent extra‑provincial license, without learner’s restrictions, is preferred.
- Motivated self‑starter with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment, with a willingness to work outdoors when required.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels and partners.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Previous experience with Power BI is an asset.
- Financial assistance for travel expenses and co‑op fees.
- Hands‑on experience applying academic knowledge to real‑world mining operations, fostering the development of technical skills.
- Mentorship and guidance from seasoned specialists in their respective fields.
- Competitive edge, with primary consideration for professional positions upon graduation.
Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co‑op experiences completed.
