About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, mechanically inclined Equipment Repair Technician to join our growing Field Operations team.

In this role, you will install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair Gastronomous autonomous kitchen equipment at customer locations throughout your assigned region. You'll be one of our technical experts, gaining hands‑on experience with mechanical systems, electrical controls, gas components, robotics, automation, and software.

This position requires strong technical ability, excellent communication skills, and a passion for solving problems independently.

Because our equipment supports commercial food service operations, this position requires willingness to travel and work non‑traditional hours when required: evenings, weekends, and occasional on‑call emergency shifts.

As one of our first full‑time U.S.

-based technicians, you'll have the unique opportunity to help build the foundation of our North American service organization. Your feedback and expertise will directly influence our service processes, customer experience, and future product development.

As Gastronomous continues to grow, this position offers significant opportunities for increased responsibility, leadership, and career advancement.

What You’ll Do Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Monitor deployed equipment and respond quickly to customer service requests.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, software, and gas system issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, cleaning, and replacement of wear components.
  • Complete emergency and scheduled service calls while exceeding customer expectations.
  • Provide engineering teams with field feedback to improve equipment reliability and serviceability.
Deployment & Installation
  • Install, commission, and calibrate Gastronomous equipment at customer sites.
  • Support pilot programs and new customer launches.
  • Assist with product demonstrations and technical walkthroughs for prospective customers.
Customer Support
  • Train customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support via phone and remote access tools.
  • Build strong customer relationships through professional communication and exceptional service.
Documentation & Collaboration
  • Maintain accurate records of all service activities, repairs, replacements, and installations.
  • Contribute to internal service manuals, troubleshooting guides, and spare parts strategy in collaboration with engineering and product teams.
  • Track and manage inventory of parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Share field insights and performance feedback to drive product reliability and serviceability improvements.
  • Support recruiting initiatives including technician hiring events and onboarding for new team members.
  • Participate in industry events and customer visits to support sales and product awareness.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot & repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues in the field.
  • Ability to diagnose complex technical problems independently.
  • Strong communication skills — written and verbal — with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to a fast‑changing environment.
  • Highly organized and self‑directed; able to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines independently.
  • Collaborative team player with experience working across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for robotics and automation.
  • Valid California driver’s license with ability to drive in California.
  • Access to a personal vehicle (preferred).
  • Willingness to travel and work non‑traditional hours when required.
What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary.
  • Performance based bonus.
  • Equity participation.
  • Hands‑on training and personal development.
  • Exposure to robotics, automation, electrical, mechanical, gas, and software systems.
  • A rapidly evolving role with significant opportunities for growth.
  • A collaborative, ambitious team focused on redefining the future of commercial food service.

Apply today and help us build the future of autonomous food service.
