Position: Security Service Technician 2

Overview

Convergint is looking for a full‑time, enthusiastic, results‑driven, and forward‑thinking Security Service Technician to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will respond to a variety of customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls, and emergency and after‑hours calls on a timely basis; diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and replace defective parts and debug a variety of systems for more complicated problems; and install projects as necessary.

  • Solid technical skills and experience related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
  • Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
  • Must be a self‑starter and work well with general supervision.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, and crimper).
  • Frequent visits to job sites are required. Minimal overnight travel is required. A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple service needs simultaneously.
  • Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Perform service duties during normal business hours and on‑call after‑hours, weekends, and holidays rotation.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
What You’ll Need
  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
  • Solid technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
  • Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
  • Must be a self‑starter and work well with direct supervision.
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.
