Office Coordinator

The Office Coordinator is the organizational anchor of the Town's Public Works Department. You'll help keep operations running smoothly by connecting people, information, and processes, ensuring staff, residents, vendors, and Town leadership receive timely, accurate, and well-coordinated support.

Starting Salary Range: $26.65– $30.65/hour, based on experience Status:
Full-time, Non-Exempt

What You'll Do

You'll manage the daily flow of administrative and operational activity that keeps Public Works moving. That includes preparing polished documents and materials for staff and Town Council, coordinating communications with residents and vendors, maintaining organized records and digital files, and keeping financial activity on track, from invoices and purchase orders to project-related expenses. You'll also support procurement tasks, help organize schedules and department communications, and keep essential Public Works content updated on the Town website.

As part of the department's service commitments, you will act as the primary liaison for Parks & Recreation coordination and serve as the designated ADA Title II Coordinator for Public Works, ensuring accessibility remains woven into everyday operations.

Requirements

Education & Experience

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered when it provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years of administrative, clerical, office support, customer service, finance support, or related experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • ADA Coordinator certification
  • Associate degree or coursework in business administration, public administration, accounting, office administration, or a related field,
  • Experience working in a municipal, public sector, public works, utilities, construction, engineering, or similar operational environment.
  • Experience with invoice processing, purchase orders, expense tracking, budget support, agenda preparation, or document routing.
  • Experience using financial, work order, or document management software.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid Maryland Driver's license
