Job Summary

Under general supervision, designs, delivers, and evaluates learning programs that develop employee skills, regulatory competency, support organizational goals, and align with departmental and organizational strategies and initiatives. Collaborates with leaders and team members to support organizational excellence, regulatory compliance, workforce development, and the patient and team member experience. Partners with departments, medical staff, and leadership teams to assess learning needs, deliver researched based education, facilitate onboarding and orientation programs, and ensure access to training required to maintain competencies and certifications.

Acts as the academic liaison between the hospital and colleges, universities, and other training institutions to coordinate and support student affiliation programs. Promotes continuous professional development, supports quality improvement initiatives, and fosters a culture of lifelong learning that enhances team member performance, team member and patient experience, and organizational success.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with leaders, subject matter experts, and interdisciplinary teams to identify and support workforce development and improvement initiatives.
  • Oversight and coordination of college/university partnerships, education rotations, and student onboarding.
  • Management of Nursing scholarship programs to include recruitment promotion, selection and award process documentation
  • Assess organizational, departmental, and individual learning needs to identify education and training priorities.
  • Program design, development, implementation, and evaluate educational programs that support operational excellence, professional development, patient safety, and organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Coordinate and facilitate onboarding, orientation, continuing education and competency validation for team members.
  • Deliver engaging learning experiences through instructor-led training, using a variety of teaching methods and technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, certification, and mandatory training requirements.
  • Support evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and patient care initiatives through targeted education and training.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report training effectiveness, competency outcomes, compliance metrics use data to update and improve content
  • Ensure accurate educational records, training documentation, and learning management system (LMS) data is maintained and updated.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for staff, promoting continuous learning, professional growth, and career development.
  • Stay current on healthcare regulations, best practices, and adult learning methodologies to ensure educational content remains relevant and effective.
  • Apply blended learning philosophy, adult learning practices and advanced instructional design principles to learning solutions using a variety of training methods, tools and techniques.
  • Other duties and responsibilities that support departmental requirements.
Work Experience Education & Experience
- Required
  • Master's degree is required in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, Nursing, or related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in workforce/organizational development or related field, preferably healthcare.
  • Previous experience as a facilitator and knowledge of Adult Learning Theory.
Education & Experience
- Preferred
  • Professional certification i.e., Certified Professional or Associate Professional in Talent Development (CPTD/APTD), Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of workforce development and emerging talent strategies with the ability to independently evaluate opportunities for performance improvement
  • Highly effective verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills to work with medical staff, leadership, hospital and program personnel, patients, regulatory agencies, and the community with the ability to build rapport and establish trust.
  • A team player with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with coworkers and clients.
  • Proven ability to gain credibility and to partner effectively with others at all levels of the organization both internally and externally and collaborate with others to achieve meaningful outcomes.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, time-management, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
