As a Police Cadet, you'll support certified officers in a variety of tasks, from assisting with traffic safety and crime prevention programs to helping at public events and emergencies. You'll gain practical exposure to law enforcement operations, including clerical duties, evidence handling, and community engagement. This role is designed to help you learn the ropes, build professional skills, and develop positive relationships with colleagues and the public.

Throughout your employment, you'll receive ongoing training and feedback, with opportunities to advance to the criminal justice academy.

Starting rate is $17.27 per hour

Position is hourly, non-exempt

The Town provides a comprehensive suite of benefits, including health insurance, paid leave, Maryland State retirement participation (converts to LEOPS once the Cadet becomes a Sworn Officer), and additional employee support resources.
