Schedule: 36 hours per week; every other weekend required; holidays as scheduled

Float Required: Yes (within specialty and to lower acuity units/sister facilities as needed)
Position Overview
The Registered Nurse MS/Telemetry provides safe, competent, and evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Medical-Surgical and Telemetry setting. The nurse is responsible for cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and management of complex medical and post-surgical conditions while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process and evidence-based practice
- Perform comprehensive assessments and ongoing telemetry monitoring
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and respond to cardiac emergencies
- Administer medications including heparin protocols and PCA management
- Provide care for post-MI, orthopedic, neurological, renal, and medical-surgical patients
- Manage IV therapy, central lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration
- Perform wound care, surgical drain management, and isolation precautions
- Utilize Rapid Response/Code teams as needed
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EPIC electronic medical record
- Float within specialty areas based on census and staffing needs
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license (required at submission)
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year recent MS/Telemetry experience
- First-time travelers accepted with strong MS/Tele background
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- NIHSS
- CPI
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to float without restrictions within scope of practice
- Must reside 50 miles or more from facility

- Cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, and vascular access management
- Central line and PICC line care
- Blood product administration
- Orthopedic and post-surgical care
- Respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and HFNC
- ABG interpretation
- Continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
- Feeding tube management
- CVA and neurological patient care
- Wound care and wound vac management
- Isolation precautions and PPE compliance
Scheduling
Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
- On-Call: Not required
- Floating: Required within specialty and lower acuity units as needed
