American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) with 2+ years of pediatric/adult experience for a night shift position caring for neonatal through geriatric patients.
Requirements- CRT or RRT certification required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- License required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers accepted with strong pediatric/adult experience
- New graduates not accepted
- Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment such as bubble CPAP, oscillating ventilator, and nasal CPAP/BIPAP preferred
- Skilled in arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
- Experience with chest physiotherapy and pulmonary hygiene techniques
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Every other weekend required as scheduled
- Holiday coverage required as they fall
- Floating within specialty and to all care areas to support RRT care as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Patient population includes neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
- Works across adult critical care, emergency department, and pediatrics settings
- Utilizes ventilator management including CPAP, BiPAP, high frequency jet ventilator, and high frequency oscillator
- Performs airway management including intubation, extubation, and suctioning
- Administers various respiratory medications including bronchodilators and inhaled steroids
- Provide respiratory care across a range of conditions including ARDS, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, and COVID
- Care for infants and children with conditions such as RSV, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and respiratory distress syndrome
- Support high-risk deliveries and provide neonatal intubation assistance as needed
- Assist with ECMO protocol-driven care
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary care team across all specialty areas
- CPI certification preferred as part of compliance requirements
