Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: 03/02/2026
Shift: Day, 3x12 hours (07:00 – 19:30), every other weekend, floating within specialty as needed
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse for the MS/Tele unit. The ideal candidate is skilled in Med/Surg and Telemetry patient care, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is adaptable to new challenges. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience (first‑time travelers considered).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in Med/Surg/Telemetry unit.
- Monitor and manage patient conditions, including dysrhythmias, post‑MI care, and acute medical conditions.
- Administer medications, manage IVs, PICC lines, central/peripheral lines, blood products, and other therapies.
- Perform phlebotomy, wound care, and assist with procedures as required.
- Participate in team discussions and contribute to patient care plans.
- Respond to rapid response/code team calls when needed.
- Adapt to floating assignments within unit or lower acuity areas as necessary.
- Document care accurately in Epic or other charting systems.
Patient Population:
- Adults and geriatrics with diagnoses including DKA, COPD, acute respiratory failure, cholecystitis, pneumonia, sepsis, cardiac emergencies, stroke, renal failure, GI bleeds, orthopedic cases, and post‑surgical care.
- Patient ratio: 1:5
Required Skills and
Certifications:
- RN license in MD (active or compact)
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, medication administration
- Experience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills
Preferred
Skills:
- CPI certification
- Peripheral nerve block catheters, PCA management, ABG interpretation, respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP/HFNC)
- Experience in orthopedics, total joint replacements, chest tubes, and wound care
