Nurse Practitioner Cardiology
Charles Regional Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with a focus in Cardiology to join our growing team. Under limited supervision and in collaboration with the cardiology medical staff, the Nurse Practitioner provides advanced, comprehensive care to a designated patient population. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with established nursing and medical standards, policies, and best practices while providing clinical guidance to nursing and support staff.
Perform comprehensive medical examinations, evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up care, consultations, and patient education appropriate to the patient's age and condition. Obtain complete patient histories and ensure accurate and timely documentation. Order, interpret, and review laboratory and diagnostic studies. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications based on patient history and diagnostic findings. Provide medical management for acute and chronic conditions in accordance with accepted standards of care.
Document clinical findings, diagnostic results, and treatment plans within the electronic medical record. Collaborate closely with cardiologists, primary care providers, nursing staff, case managers, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care. Communicate treatment plans and recommendations with patients and their families. Educate patients regarding disease processes, medications, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care strategies. Coordinate referrals and consult with other healthcare providers as needed to optimize patient outcomes.
Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of protected health information in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies. Participate in departmental and organizational patient safety initiatives. Identify and address potential risks to patient safety and report adverse events or near misses appropriately. Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Master of Science degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required. Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Maryland required. Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Maryland required. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained prior to providing direct patient care. DEA and CDS eligibility required. Minimum of 2–3 years of cardiology experience required; strong clinical experience in cardiology preferred.
Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care across the lifespan. Strong assessment, diagnostic, and critical-thinking skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, patients, and families. Commitment to maintaining mandatory education, safety training, and recommended immunizations.

Pay Range: $120,000 - $135,000
