Staff Accountant

Location: South Bend, IN (Onsite)
Salary: $54,000-$62,000

We're looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant who enjoys a mix of accounting, accounts payable, reporting, and sales tax responsibilities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment, enjoys problem-solving, and has experience working in Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central.

• Manage high-volume Accounts Payable, matching invoices to sales orders and ensuring landed costs are accurately recorded.
• Process approximately 100 invoices per week, route non-PO invoices for approval, and prepare payment batches for ACH and check processing.
• Administer company credit card transactions and ensure proper coding and approvals.
• Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns (32 states) using Vertex.
• Track import wire payments throughout the purchasing process and coordinate with internal teams.
• Assist with monthly costing reports by pulling data, analyzing freight and product costs, and distributing reports in Excel.
• Support month-end close, account reconciliations, general ledger accuracy, financial reporting, and cash application activities.

• Experience as a Staff Accountant or Accountant with strong AP and general accounting knowledge.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is highly preferred.
• Understanding of month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience with sales and use tax filings is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills, including filtering, sorting, and working with reports.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn costing processes and work independently.
