Financial Analyst

LHH has a client who needs a La Porte, IN – Financial Analyst will be preparing monthly journal entries from worksheets, maintains daily records for all inventory elements, performs monthly reconciliations related to inventory reporting. Oversee metal receiving functions along with maintain accurate daily records for all metal receipts to reconcile the activity to inventory reporting and billings and book the necessary journal entries to record the metal receipt activity, which includes the appropriate cost variances (purchase price variances) for this activity.

• Support the monthly financial close process by preparing journal entries, inventory reconciliations, and ensuring accurate reporting.
• Maintain daily inventory records, including metal receipts, inventory transactions, and cost variance accounting.
• Reconcile inventory activity between Oracle and AS400 systems, preparing necessary adjusting journal entries.
• Manage Cast House melting and casting activity records by alloy and post related journal vouchers.
• Analyze inventory and financial data, investigate variances, and collaborate with leadership to resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare detailed expenditure analyses, review general ledger activity, and process correcting journal entries.
• Assist with departmental annual budget preparation and support financial reporting requests and special projects.
• Maintain physical inventory documentation and support compliance with internal controls and self-assessment procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Accounting major preferred).
• 2+ years of accounting or finance experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and general ledger maintenance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle; experience with AS400 is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and computerized reporting systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial analysis effectively.
• Preferred:
  Experience in a manufacturing or industrial accounting environment.
