Senior Accountant

Location: La Porte, Indiana
Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite
Salary: $70,000–$85,000

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a fast-paced organization in La Porte, Indiana. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with 2+ years of experience, including at least 1 year in a manufacturing environment, who is looking to take ownership of financial reporting and contribute to the overall success of the accounting team.

The ideal candidate will be highly detail oriented, analytical, and organized, with strong reporting skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven manufacturing environment.

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations.

• Analyze financial data and provide meaningful reporting and insights to management.

• Assist with manufacturing accounting activities, including inventory, cost analysis, and variance reporting.

• Identify discrepancies and investigate unusual or unfavorable variances.

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

• Support internal and external audits by providing requested schedules and documentation.

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and overall efficiency.

• Collaborate with operations and other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience required.

• At least 1 year of manufacturing accounting experience required.

• Strong financial reporting and analytical skills.

• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.

• Highly detail oriented with strong organizational skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both accounting and operational teams.

• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

• Ability to identify issues, research discrepancies, and develop practical solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
