Maintenance and MRO Buyer

Buyer Associate – Ferguson Industrial (La Porte, IN)

• Perform a range of procurement activities
• Monitor inventory and manage product shortages
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors and internal departments, acting as point of contact for queries
• Lead negotiations of contracts, including terms and volume discounts
• Draft procurement reports, analyze inventory and project utilization, and recommend useful insights
• Expedite orders
• Reconcile payable discrepancies
• Manage freight billing and audit processes
• Research specifications of products not clearly identified
• Enter and edit purchase orders and blanket order releases
• Ensure product file integrity
• Maintain good customer and supplier relations
• Reconcile customer problems
• Must be comfortable assisting in the warehouse as needed

• Previous experience in a buyer role preferred
• Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) experience preferred
• Proven ability to follow documented procedures
• Knowledge of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) products is preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software
• Detail oriented and proven organization skills with a high level of accuracy
• Strong customer service skills and problem‑solving proficiency
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and phenomenal communication skills

• $15.00 – $31.74 per hour (hourly range displayed). This role is bonus or incentive plan eligible. Starting wage may be higher in certain locations based on local or state wage requirements.
