Job SummaryAs the front‑line client ambassador, the Universal Banker (Bank Teller) is cross‑trained to provide a remarkable client experience. You will understand transaction requirements, communicate available options, and maintain accurate, compliant records while delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high‑quality, friendly, professional service to clients.
- Establish rapport, identify client needs, recommend and explain solutions, manage objections, and secure business.
- Promote and advise on the bank’s products, services, and digital delivery channels.
- Perform teller transactions: accept deposits and loan payments, verify cash and endorsements, cash checks within limits, issue money orders and official checks, and redeem savings bonds.
- Count drawer daily, ensure cash is balanced, and investigate discrepancies.
- Comply with BSA/AML/OFAC regulations, identify and report suspicious activity.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information and mandatory privacy practices.
- Resolve client complaints quickly and efficiently.
- Assist in currency shipment verification, drop‑off, night‑drop deposits, and balancing of ATMs, vaults, and cash machines.
- Assist associates with balancing drawers and locating errors.
- Conduct client onboarding and outbound calling to pursue quality conversations and sales opportunities.
- Track and pursue individual, branch, and organizational goals, reporting progress to management.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date knowledge of the full line of products and services.
- Represent Centier professionally in virtual and community engagements and volunteer activities.
- Engage in personal development activities, including online learning and training.
- Identify referral opportunities to specialists in other banking lines.
- Participate in promotional activities such as PA’s, aisle time, and other events (when applicable).
- Maintain professional appearance and a neat, orderly work area, following dress and clean‑desk policies.
- Perform any other tasks, duties, or qualifications as reasonably assigned.
- Mentor fellow associates on tasks and assignments.
- Be available for evenings, some weekends, and occasional travel to other branches.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Banking experience is a plus but not required.
- Minimum six months of customer service or cash handling experience desirable.
- Working knowledge of PC software:
Windows, Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), SharePoint, and bank‑approved systems such as CSI NuPoint, IMM, Covalent, Power BI, Smartsheet. - Proofreading and verification of written materials.
- High attention to detail and accurate data entry.
- Ability to assess currency authenticity.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem‑solving and consultative abilities.
- Adaptability to new technologies, system conversions, and software rollouts.
- Capability to interact with business partners:
Investment Services, Mortgage, and Business Banking sales professionals. - Experience training new associates as a Branch Teller Mentor and onboarding retail banking interview clients.
