Position Overview:
La Lumiere School is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator for a 12-week maternity leave position as a Biology Teacher. This role involves teaching three sections of Biology and one section of AP Biology, along with supervising one Study Hall section. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are enthusiastic about fostering student growth and academic achievement within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Teach three sections of standard Biology and one section of AP Biology.
* Supervise one Study Hall period.
* Collaborate with the Science Department to support a dynamic, engaging, and effective learning experience for all students.
* Employ differentiated instruction strategies to meet the varied needs of students in a small class-size environment. Maintain regular communication with students and parents to support academic progress.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Biology, Education, or a related field;
Master's degree preferred.
* Prior experience teaching high school Biology preferred; experience with AP Biology is beneficial.
* Strong commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment.
* Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to a temporary teaching role.
