School Counselor

Performance Responsibilities:

• Implementation of a comprehensive school counseling program around developing knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary for children to become healthy, competent, and confident learners and leaders.
• Work with administration to develop a safe and respectful learning environment.
• Provide SEL education programs, anti-bullying program, career exploration, assist students in achieving academic success, develop social/emotional skills in response to student challenges.
• Be an active member of the RtI team.
• Provide direct services (school counseling core curriculum, individual student planning, responsive services), and indirect student services (consultation, collaboration, and referrals).
• Collaborate with outside agencies to provide services to students.

• Demonstrate a genuine concern for the social, emotional, and physical well-being of children
• Current Master Degree in School Counseling
• Valid Indiana School Counseling License
• Experience and Knowledge in Best Practices for School Counseling based on ASCA National Standards
• Excellent Communication and Team Skills
• Strong Organizational and Communication Skills

• WIDA testing and reporting
• Experience writing and implementing 504 plans
• Previous experience in a school setting
• Restorative practice training
• Positive Discipline training
• RtI Interventions
