Percussion Instruction - La Porte High School Band
La Porte High School is looking for a percussion instructor for our fall marching band season, covering both battery and front ensemble instruction. Our season includes a 1‑2 week parade camp leading up to the 4th of July, a 2‑week band camp in late July/early August, and then a regular season schedule of Mondays 5:30‑8:30, Wednesdays 3‑4:30 (music only), Thursdays 5:30‑8:30, Friday home games, and Saturday rehearsal/competitions (all times Central).
LPHS competes in ISSMA Scholastic A class. A $6,000 stipend is available for the position, with potential additional stipend money for continued work with concert percussion in concert band classes throughout the school year.
Before an individual can work with students or have his/her name submitted for approval to the Board of School Trustees, the candidate must complete the background check authorization at a cost of $15.00 (cash or check) and receive a “cleared” rating. In addition, the individual must complete a federal I‑9 form (providing appropriate identification documents), tax forms, a direct‑deposit form (with an attached voided check), and view training videos at the Educational Services Center (approximately one hour in length).
