Job Description

As a Juvenile Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside educators and program staff to provide academic support, classroom assistance, and student engagement activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to helping young people overcome challenges and achieve educational goals. You will assist with lesson delivery, classroom management, and individualized student support while contributing to a safe and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers with daily classroom activities and lesson implementation
  • Support students with academic assignments and learning objectives
  • Encourage positive behavior and student engagement
  • Monitor classroom activities and maintain a safe learning environment
  • Provide individualized assistance to students who require additional support
  • Assist with educational assessments and progress tracking
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
    Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience working with youth, students, or educational programs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
  • Patience, professionalism, and a positive attitude
  • Strong organizational and classroom support skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow program guidelines
  • Background screening eligibility, if required
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Previous experience in juvenile education or youth development programs
  • Classroom management experience
  • Knowledge of special education support techniques
  • CPR or First Aid certification
  • Experience with educational technology tools
