Position OverviewWe are seeking a Quality Engineer – Machined Hydraulic Components to ensure that our products meet stringent customer, industry, and regulatory standards while driving continuous improvement in machining and quality processes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain inspection and quality assurance processes for machined hydraulic fittings, adapters, and couplings.
- Interpret customer drawings, CAD models, and industry standards to define inspection requirements.
- Ensure compliance with SAE, ISO, API, ASME, and ASTM specifications relevant to hydraulic fittings and adapters.
- Support incoming, in‑process, and final inspection of machined hydraulic components.
- Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to verify tolerances and dimensional accuracy.
- Create and maintain inspection documentation, including PPAPs, FAIRs, control plans, and FMEAs.
- Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes for machining non‑conformances.
- Partner with machinists and engineers to improve processes, reduce scrap/rework, and enhance machining consistency.
- Apply statistical process control (SPC) and capability studies to validate machining and threading processes.
- Serve as a point of contact for customer quality requirements and audits.
- Provide documentation and reporting to customers on quality performance, certifications, and corrective actions.
- Ensure products meet pressure, safety, and corrosion standards for hydraulic applications.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain on quality requirements and supplier quality programs.
- Train machinists, operators, and inspectors on GD&T, thread specifications, and hydraulic fitting tolerances.
- Support new product introductions by developing machining validation and inspection protocols.

- 3–7 years of experience in quality engineering for machined parts, ideally in hydraulic fittings, adapters, or related components.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, machining tolerances, and thread specifications (SAE JIC, NPT, ORFS, BSP, etc.).
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools and CMMs.
- Experience with quality systems (ISO 9001, PPAP, FMEA, CAPA, APQP).
- Familiarity with hydraulic industry standards and certifications (SAE, API, ASME, ASTM).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- ASQ CQE certification or Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
- Strong understanding of plant operations and hose production processes.
- Familiarity with NRP’s Quality Manual and job‑specific quality requirements.
