Metal Control Operator

Job Overview

Requirement/Must Have:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret Product Criteria (PC) and Activity Instructions (AI).
• Operate hand grinding tools (both belt and stone).
• Operate metal cleaning equipment, water flow and sonic equipment.
• Adjust parts by use of presses, heat or other dimensional tooling.
• Operate hand sandblast and auto blast units.
• Maintain expected quality levels.
• Function as a member of a team and work under general supervision.
• Work and function in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform metal cleaning, finishing, and dimensional inspection.

Skills:

• Basic knowledge of computers.
• Ability to read parts to the .0001.
• Understanding of gauging and templates.
• Finishing skills (stones, burrs, belts, etc.).
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instruction.

Education and Experience:

• No previous experience required.
• Ability to lift approximately 30% of the time, with assistance for weights exceeding 35 pounds.
• Good manual dexterity.
• Ability to work more than eight hours daily and more than five days weekly to complete work assignments.
• Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
