Duties and Responsibilities:

• Run parts as directed with the ability to interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
• Run multiple lathes as programmed with the ability to change inserts and offsets. Use basic math to interface with the machine. Experience programming Haas machines is helpful, but not required.
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to documented and programmed standards.
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning and facing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Any other task assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Knowledgeable in the verification of parts produced with the use of varied measurment gauges which would allow for modifying off-sets to meet customer engineering drawing specifications.
• Knowledgeable in the use of HAAS controls.
• Knowledgeable in arithmetic, algebra, geometry to generate the correct finished dimensions.
• Must possess skills in: monitoring performance of self or organization to make improvements or take corrective action; watching gauges, dial, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly;
  Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems; conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance; controlling operations of equipment or systems; identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

Abilities:

• Good listening, problem sensitivity, quick response reaction time, arm-hand steadiness and rate control.
• Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining and entering accurate information in B & B ERP system.
• Analyzing information, and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
• Providing information to supervisors, co-workers via telephone, written form, e-mail or in person.
• Must follow all safety procedures and policies as mandated by B&B including but not restricted to wearing safety eye protection and equipment and enforcing adherence by others.
• Ability to stand on hard surface for the entire work shift.
• Frequent walking.
• The ability to meet strict deadlines or be able to communicate those that cannot be met.
