Job Objective:
To receive, sort, price, tag, and stock donations while ensuring a smooth operation in a fast‑paced retail environment. This position reports to the Store Manager and/or Production Manager.
- Sort, price, and tag donated textiles at a minimum rate of 80 pieces per hour (PPH).
- Retrieve the Textile Production Sheet at the start of each shift and submit it upon completion.
- Transport carts containing items to be processed.
- Process donations promptly and dispose of trash into designated True Trash receptacles as needed.
- Organize racks for efficient stocking.
- Record daily PPH for tracking purposes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Training Level: Below 80 PPH – Starting rate $11.00/hr employee must reach 80 PPH within four weeks; coaching is provided if goal not met. After eight weeks, if the goal remains unmet and no qualifying open position exists, termination may be considered.
- Level 2: 80–90 PPH – Rate increases to $15.00/hr upon first reaching 80 PPH.
- Level 3 (High Performers): 91–110 PPH – Rate increases to $16.00/hr (requires a 3‑week average of at least 91 before effective).
- Level 4 (High Performers): 111–130+ PPH – Rate increases to $17.00/hr (requires a 3‑week average of at least 111 before effective).
- If PPH drops below the level target, a three‑week improvement period is initiated before progressive discipline.
- Failure to maintain the required PPH may result in performance discussions and pay adjustments.
- Adherence to standard retail practices and dress code.
- Familiarity with current clothing, shoe, furniture, and toy styles, and brand names.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
- Effective communication with the public and coworkers.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to frequently bend, twist, push, pull, reach above shoulder level, crouch or stoop, kneel, and use feet repetitively; can lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Used to operating light industrial equipment such as tagging gun, stickers, tags, standard office supplies, pallet stacker, pallet jack, and compactor (must be 18 to operate).
- Daily recording of PPH is mandatory; failure to record may affect pay rate.
- Note:
Each Z‑rack is considered 100 pieces per rack.
