Position Summary

The Operations Resource Coordinator is an entry-level operations management role designed for a motivated business graduate with a strong interest in operations, analytics, and organizational performance. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this position is responsible for coordinating Horizon Environmental's operational resources, including daily workforce scheduling, equipment allocation, fleet readiness, preventive maintenance planning, and long-term resource forecasting.

In addition to resource coordination, the Operations Resource Coordinator analyzes operational performance, identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability, and supports strategic decision-making through data-driven reporting and resource optimization. This role offers hands-on experience in workforce planning, fleet management, operational analytics, financial performance, and continuous improvement, providing a strong foundation for future leadership opportunities within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily workforce, fleet, and equipment assignments to support ongoing operations.
  • Maintain the Operations Resource Board, ensuring real-time visibility of personnel, equipment, and fleet availability.
  • Balance resources across multiple projects while minimizing downtime and operational conflicts.
  • Forecast staffing, equipment, and fleet needs to support current and future workloads.
  • Schedule field personnel based on project requirements, certifications, qualifications, and availability.
  • Coordinate employee PTO, training schedules, and workforce availability.
  • Manage fleet and equipment readiness by coordinating preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and mobilizations.
  • Monitor employee and equipment utilization to maximize efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
  • Track and analyze key operational metrics, including labor utilization, fleet utilization, downtime, overtime, and subcontractor usage.
  • Prepare reports and operational dashboards to support executive decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Supervisors, Safety, and Administration to resolve scheduling and resource challenges.
  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes, resource allocation, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and the implementation of operational systems and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • Recent college graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook proficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Certifications & Requirements
  • Must pass a DISA background screening and drug/alcohol testing.
  • Able to work extended hours when operational demands require.
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to operational excellence.
  • Primarily office-based with frequent interaction with field operations.
  • Periodic visits to industrial facilities and customer sites.
  • Must be comfortable wearing required PPE during field visits.
