Based at the LaPorte, Texas Branch Office, the Customer Service Representative is responsible for processing telephone orders from call‑in customers and associates. This role handles client requests for various products and supplies, including industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding and safety equipment, power and hand tools, and more.

• Build and sustain strong client relationships by handling inbound calls, helping customers determine their product requirements, and processing orders.

• Collaborate with internal teams—including account managers, branch store operations, and distribution—to efficiently address and resolve any order conflicts.

• Liaise with vendors to gather product details, verify availability, and obtain pricing information.

• Ensure all necessary documentation is completed and filed accurately on a timely basis, while utilizing the computer system to input sales and quote data and research customer inquiries.

• Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedures which apply to this position’s responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or the equivalent;

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in customer service and/or sales experience.

• Knowledge of computer skills: documents, spreadsheets, email, etc.

• Excellent customer skills

• Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two (2) year degree preferred.

• Knowledge of welding, gases, industrial, safety supply sales.
