Position:  Teacher, Special Education – Elementary FOCUS (Life Skills)

Campus: TBA

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
• Valid Texas Teacher's Certificate (Core Subjects or Generalist) and Special Education EC-12
• Alternative Certification Program applicants must have passed content exam(s) to be eligible for employment
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned

• Provide students with appropriate learning activities, structure, and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth
• Prepare lessons that reflect strategies designed specifically for the academic, social and behavioral needs of students
• Work cooperatively with general education teachers to adjust behavioral approaches as needed for students to access the curriculum
• Provide direct instruction to support self-discipline and transition to the general education classroom with support from the FOCUS teacher or paraprofessional
• Maintain open communication with campus administrators and district special programs staff
• Other duties required by campus/district supervisors reflective of district policies and procedures

• $63,000 for beginning teacher with "0" years experience (Based on  Compensation Plan)
• $1,000 Master's Degree addenda
• Additional $1,000 Doctorate Degree addenda
• $3,150 Stipend - FOCUS Teacher

Pay Grade: Certified Instructional, 10 Duty Months

The District contributes $400/month to the cost of employee-only health insurance, which is $175/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.
